A group of City Youths have lauded the Senate Labor and Social welfare Committee for initiating talks to have job seekers not to be charged for CRB clearance.
CRB charges at least shs 2,400 to issue one with a debt free certificate.
Speaking at a Nairobi Hotel, the Youths were led by Youth Leader Sameul Mundia.
The Committee met CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge on Tuesday.
Njoroge said he will ensure the CRB fees are abolished.
The Youths also want the DCI to stop charging jobless youths shs 1200 for a certificate of Good conduct.
They have also petitioned the Senate to ask the EACC to stop charging shs 500 for clearance.
Mundia also wants HELB to stop charging shs 1000 fore HELB clearance certificate.
“Why should we pay for not being corrupt,” Mundia said.
The Public Service Commission announced on Tuesday that it has scrapped all the statutory requirements of all the clearances for entry level jobs.
