Several parts of the country have been hit by an earth tremor this Sunday evening at 9.23 pm.
Several Kenyans took to social media to express what they had experienced.
“Was that an earth tremor I have just experienced?” said Nelly Waeni.
“Earth tremors felt in Parts of central Kenya including parts of Nairobi where they have been felt in Ruaka & Two rivers, kabete , langata,” posted Emilly Kimani on her facebook.
“The earthquake at 1922 hrs ama ni mimi nilikua naota ama Nyumba yangu iko na mpepo,” asked Bonke Daniel.
“I am reading on other platforms people talking of feeling a tremor (low level earthquake) from Mombasa, Rongai and other places. I haven’t felt anything. Have you felt it?”Asked Andrew Nyamosi.
“Felt it here in Bomet too” said John Tonui.
However, some people said they did not feel it.
“Mombasa is an Island…Garissa not on the line of seismic movement ……some areas didn’t feel,” said B Lordship.
The meteorological department said the tremor did not cause significant damage.
The met said the tremor was felt in Nakuru, Naivasha, Makueni, Mombasa, Kiambu and Nyeri.
Those at the Coast were asked to avoid the shoreline.
