In a rallying cry for unity, the JAY NETWORK LOBBY GROUP, led by Chairman Calystus Wafula, National Coordinator Annie Thuku, and Secretary General Albert Kavita, calls upon all concerned Kenyans to join the upcoming Sabasaba Day rally at Kamukunji grounds.
This bold move counters the dissatisfied voices of Raila Odinga’s Azimio team, igniting a momentous battle that will determine Kenya’s path forward.
The LOBBY GROUP leadership emphasized that this rally would be a gathering for all Kenyans, distinct from previous events where citizens rallied in support of Azimio leadership.
“Our primary goal is to unite and mobilize Kenyans to voice their strong opposition to President Ruto’s autocratic style of governance,” said Mr. Wafula.
Disillusioned with the current UDA and Kenya Kwanza leadership, Mr. Wafula noted that Kenyans are deeply disappointed by the unfulfilled promises made during the campaign period, particularly the “pesa mfukoni” (money in the pocket) pledge for hustlers.
The Chairman expressed the sentiment that the President has neglected the very people who supported him and has burdened the nation with heavy taxes, an exorbitant cost of living, constitutional violations, and questionable appointments.
“We are urging every Kenyan to gather at Kamukunji grounds, not to support any specific individual or political party, but to collectively express our disappointment with the current leadership. We must compel President Ruto and his government to listen to the common mwananchi.”
National Coordinator Annie Thuku called upon civil society groups, including KENYA BORA TUITAKAYO, LINDA UGATUZI, and (KHRC) Kenya Human Rights Commission, among others, to join hands with the aggrieved Kenyans who have endured immense suffering for far too long.
She emphasized that business cannot continue as usual and urged them to participate actively in the rally.
Sabasaba Day holds historical significance as a pivotal moment in the fight for multiparty democracy and the second Liberation during the Moi regime.
This time, the aim is to liberate the nation from various forms of oppression, including economic slavery.
