Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has assured President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga that Busia residents will support the BBI.
He was speaking during the launch of the first regional consultative meeting in Kisii County to interrogate the BBI report.
The Governor said the residents have read the document carefully, noting that they are only waiting for a referendum.
“I was invited here as an observer, but I am very impressed that the BBI program in Nyanza is on the right track with everybody endorsing the report,” he said.
Last year, Ojaamong told Hot News he fully backs the BBI.
He said it will ensure inclusivity of all communities and unite the Country.
However, when asked about his future after serving as Governor for 2 terms, he said he looks forward to becoming an MP, then hopefully be appointed a Cabinet Secretary if the BBI is adopted.
Majority of Governors serving their second terms are also eyeing the Cabinet Secretaries seats.
They hope to become MPs and thereafter Cabinet Secretaries.
