Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has repeatedly said that Raila’s ODM bungled the Busia Gubernatorial nominations.
He has been quoted in several video clips claiming that he was not responsible for the mess but Otuoma should blame “ODM goons”.
“Otuoma is my friend. People say we are enemies, we are not. I did not steal from him. Some other people stole from him. I am talking to him so that we see how to help each other in 2022. It is not me. They are Wakora’s in ODM that did that to him,” he is heard saying in one of the clips.
In another incident, he is also quoted insisting Wakora’ s bungled the nominations.
Addressing residents of Kisii County who had attended a burial in Busia County, Ojaamong insisted that he won courtesy of electoral malpractices in ODM.
“Otuoma is our brother. We played together the game of politics. We have Wakora’s who stole from you and ensured I won. But that is over now,” he said.
During the nominations in 2017, Otuoma claimed to have won whereas Ojaamong was declared the winner.
Latter leaflets were circulated claiming Otuoma had defected to the Jubilee Party.
Otuoma denied the allegations.
Otuoma vied for the seat as an Independent Candidate and lost to Ojaamong.
Across the Country, ODM was blamed for bungling its nominations and dishing out tickets to its preferred candidates.
