The Professional Criminologists Association of Kenya (PCAK) has announced that it will from next week donate food stuffs to several slums within the City.
PCAK said this is to cushion slum dwellers from the effects of Covid-19.
“Safety is possible when a substantial number of human basic needs are met and that is when the rate of crime is reduced.” said the Organisations founding Chairman Munene Mugambi.
He said the initiative is informed by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s appeal on Monday to individuals and organisations as well as other development partners to donate towards fighting the effects of Covid 19.
The chairman said the campaign is being spearheaded by PCAK’ Corporate Social Responsibility arm.
The government has introduced a 7 pm to 5 Am curfew, social distancing, closure of entertainment joints among other measures against the spread of Covid- 19.
Munene told Hot News the ongoing humanitarian services in Mombasa are led by PCAK’s director for strategic communications and PR Rishi Parikh.
He said PCAK is a professional body, duly registered to oversee the best practices by all the criminologists in the country adding that it’s other vital function is the enhancement of safety and security of the society, especially the less fortunate, through its CSR arm.
PCAK established PCAK Trust in 2019 to handle its CSR.
