Three days after she took President Kenyatta head on and criticized him for steering the Country in the wrong direction, Kandara MP Alice Wahome continues to be bashed by several political leaders.
The latest to criticize her for the remarks is the Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Nairobi County.
The group led by Martha Miyandazi said Wahomes remarks were reckless and meant to divide the Country.
They addressed a press conference at a Nairobi Hotel.
“The biggest existential threat to Kenya’s economy and democracy is Uhuru Kenyatta. Raila Odinga is his newfound political Mercenary. The BBI is a special purpose vehicle to cling to power,” she said.
The MP said Uhuru should quit public service in 2022 and that he should not dream of becoming Prime Minister.
She said Raila should “not be brought back through the BBI”.
The Maendeleo Ya Wanawake chairperson said Wahome should respect the President.
“She could not have been elected an MP were it not for Uhuru,” Miyandazi said.
Women leader Saumu Saidi added that she should respect President Uhuru Kenyatta so that “her Master Deputy President William Ruto is respected if at all he becomes President”.
Businesswoman Tabitha Mutero compared Alice Wahome to a woman who had openly “exposed her thighs” and everybody was “staring at her in bewilderment”.
Mutero said the criticism is uncalled for since Uhuru and Raila had brought peace and harmony in the Country.
“We suffered loses in our business. There was tribalism but now we can great each other as brothers and sisters. We don’t want to go back to divisions,” Mutero said.
