President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned that State House won’t intervene in any case where a senior government official is arrested over corruption.
Speaking in Mombasa on Monday while flagging off the first 200,000 barrels of crude oil from Kenya, he said that all “desperate and frantic calls” to State House and to himself by the corrupt government officials have been blocked.
He said all the corrupt government officials are on their own and no one will stop the DCI or EACC from arresting them.
He warned those in charge of the Early Oil Pilot Scheme (EOPS) that the State is aware of the amount of money they intended to embezzle and blocked them.
“We know what you were to use- what you used and soon, some people will be arrested,” he said.
Uhuru said the DCI and the EACC have promised him that they will not relent in the fight against corruption.
“Wale wasee wanakuja…… wale wase hawacheki na hawachezi.(Those guys –the EACC – and the DCI are coming, they are not playing around,” he said.
On Saturday during the burial of Musician John De Mathew in Gatanga , Muranga County, Uhuru warned that officials of the Kenya Copy Right Board will be investigated and if found culpable will be arrested and prosecuted.
He said the Copyright Board has misappropriated artistes money.
He also announced that the Copyright Board will be moved from the Attorney General’s office to the ICT Ministry.
“Through the Communication Authority, the ICT ministry will be able to know how much money has been collected.
“All Telecoms licenses will only be renewed after musicians are paid. It’s now up to the MP’s to pass the copyright amendment bill and I will sign it into law,” he said.
